Now There’s a Smart TV to View Instagram Stories and Vertical Videos

in Smartphones/Tech

What might sound bizarre to many, Samsung has launched a vertical smart television in its home market in South Korea dubbed The Sero.

Just like a smartphone, the TV can adapt to a vertical orientation when the content on the screen is in the same ratio. This resolution has been added to The Sero targetting smartphone-using millennials.

According to Samsung, the TV is capable of displaying content from smartphones which otherwise on normal horizontal televisions would come with black bands on the sides.

The Sero can be flipped around 90 degrees and comes with 43-inch 4K Ultra HD resolution. As far as other specs go, the vertical TV delivers 4.1 channel, 60 watt sound bundled with Bixby control voice assistant and also supports screen mirroring based on NFC Games, videos, and more.

Another example of a display which has similar qualities is the Microsoft Surface Hub 2 which can also be flipped 90 degrees. However, the display is primarily suitable for corporates and professionals since it has a full touchscreen and can be used for presentations.
